The toys have been kicked out of the pram. Barely five sleeps following Christmas – depending on your time zone – and Donald Trump demands a spending bill of 5 billion US Dollars from congress to fund his fantasy wall along the US-Mexico border.
Bearing in mind that after the latest midterm elections, Republicans lost the House of Representatives to Democrats. If the spending bill is not passed by congress, by utilising toddler tactics, President Trump will aim to partially shut down the government, before Democrats take control of the House of Reps on January 3rd, in protest of their decision.
Although his threats appear fierce, his toddler-like tactics exude no fear. Senate Minority Leader, Chuck Schumer, stood amongst the Senate to attest his dismissal of Trump’s demand saying, “There are not votes in the Senate for an expense tax payer funded border wall. So, President Trump. You will not get your border wall, abandon your shutdown strategy. You are not getting the wall; today, next week or January 3rd when democrats take control of the house”.
With the turmoil of Brexit and the continual humiliation of America, it seems the tide is coming in on the West as it begins to fall like dominoes and crumble like a sand castle.
